SpaJuiceBar is an organic juice bar and a raw plant based cafe. We are seeking a Prep Cook to prepare our plant based food and acai bowls. We’re looking for that cook who knows how to prep and prepare salads and understands the vegan, plant based lifestyle. You will be responsible for prepping and assembling plant based foods, juices and making acai bowls. We want a person who has a passion for what they do in the kitchen and someone who is reliable and wants to grow with us.

Responsibilities

• Follow the prep list and recipes
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Prepare dishes such as salads, raw entrees, acai bowls and soups
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
• Comply with sanitation guidelines
• Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
• Assist with the prepping of produce for juicing and pressing juice with the Norwalk juicer and citrus machine

Minimum Requirements:

- 2 years experience in a cafe or juice bar

- High school diploma, culinary school or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience

- Ability to work in accordance with quality, safety, and sanitation standards, policies and guidelines

- Reliable transportation

- Ability to communicate clearly - both verbally and in writing- Strong attention to detail

- Ability to understand written and verbal policies and guidelines, specifications and safety standards

- Ability to work overtime as required, even on short notice.

- Food safety certification is needed
